Abstract
Tracheopathia osteoplastica (TO) is the presence of multiple ossified or cartilaginous sessile nodules in the submucosa of the trachea and bronchi. TO is a rarely described disorder which historically has not been frequently recognized
antemortem.
But
studies by computed tomography and bronchoscopy now permita a definitive antemortem diagnosis. As far as we know, this is the first case of TO in Korea.
We report a case of extensive TO diagnosed in vivo by the computed tomography, bronchoscopy and biopsy examination.
